Powerful Online Storytelling
Tuesday 25 August, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am AEST
Stories have been a key way of communicating since the beginning of time. Stories of joy, pain, adventure, life and death draw the listener to experience wonder, hope, love and connection. A strong narrative empowers audiences and societies to shift culture and move to action.
TIME UNTIL WEBINAR STARTS
Eugene Wong from A Stronger Narrative will join us for an hour of mind-opening wisdom on:
- the powerful art of storytelling
- the heart and language of your mission, and
- how you can create powerful stories to share online
Eugene Wong (A Stronger Narrative)
Eugene is an expert storyteller and culture shaper. He founded and led the missional performing arts company Candlelight Productions for 15 years. He introduced Squeaky Clean Comedy to the Melbourne Comedy Festival, headed up what an award-winning biography program for people in palliative care, and has taught masterclasses in storytelling, culture shaping and event management around Australia and internationally.
Eugene is the Arts, Culture and Community Engagement Strategist for the Centre for Building Better Community. He sits on the boards or in advisory positions of a range of culture shaping organisations.
Eugene spends most of his time as the Chief Story Shaper for A Stronger Narrative, coaching leaders about how to maximise their impact through clearer identity and innovative connections with their target audiences. He often helps churches and other organisations design their community engagement practices.
“Evan’s help arrived just in time for the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne. As our 200 parishes faced the challenge of adapting to virtual church in the COVID19 lockdown, Evan designed and delivered a series of webinars that gave our clergy skills and confidence to switch to digital with minimum anxiety.
His patience and expertise in personal consultations helped even the most technically-challenged to find their way forward.”
With Evan’s help our whole organisation took a 5-year leap in a matter of weeks.”
"Evan is an easy-to-listen-to presenter and facilitator. He covered the process by which we can discover our voice and our audience, prepare our social media engagement, what that looks like from pre-production to post-production, and what helpful tools can help automate this for us. He also offered to set up helpful post-course engagement for participants.
The course was useful as an overview, enabling us to identify where we may have blockages and what advantages we can gain from various online platforms. The post-course engagement offered promises to help us by collaborating with others with more experience."
“I highly recommend these sessions to any person or group wanting to reach people out in the digital world. Evan from Digital Team Coach presented the training in a way that was easy to comprehend while at a level that provided a greater depth of understanding of how to get the most out of digital media opportunities.
With very useful content, the chance to ask questions and clarify points together with being provided with resources and links to many of them at the end of the course I found myself confident that I will be able to provide valuable input to our digital media strategy. Thank you Digital Team Coach.”
“Evan's gentle approach to 'technologically challenged' people was great. He shared his expertise generously giving me tools to make my job easier, confidence to try new things, and a fresh outlook on how Social Media can be used to reach people who haven't experienced the love of God in their lives.”
