I remember being captivated by Sony Bravia’s slow-mo bouncing balls commercial down the Russian Hill streets of San Fran married with Jose Gonzalez’s hypnotizing ‘Heartbeats’. Eleven years on, OK Go’s latest video, The One Moment, pushes the boundaries of the convergence of music and art and color, warping my mind to experience and believe in something else. But what gets me even more is the intense and intricate fusion of the creative and technical, their daring to dream and play, the thousands of hours of planning every single detail, collaborating with a hundred other people to bring their dream to life, working their damn butts off and yet still having to trust in something bigger that the perfect take will come. OK Go radiate the hope that imagination and creativity can only grow and the sum is always greater than the parts. This is what our world should look like everyday and I want in.
