There are three important areas that you need to focus on for the system to run well; whether you’re implementing a system from scratch for the first time or if you have a system already running and you want to improve the way that you use it.

When I approach any topic around online interaction or online engagement, I have come up with a framework for the different audiences that we need to reach and to empower. I call this framework the Digital Realms Of Influence.
Digital systems serve many purposes; to fulfil a need, to provide value for users, to make work and life easier for users, to provide outcomes or a service, to save time, etc. When they serve you well, you keep them. When they do not serve you, you either put up with the frustrations of an inferior system or you shop around.
